Montgomery County Residents in Need
It seems hard to believe that here in Montgomery County, one of the wealthiest areas in the country, there are thousands of families with food insecurity issues. Imagine going to bed without the confidence that your children will be adequately fed the next day. It’s just unbelievable!
Fortunately, there is an organization in the area geared up to help families in need get healthy food into their pantries. The Manna Food Center is always looking for donations of either non-perishable food items or cash.
Moms, Inc. of Bethesda is engaged in a permanent food drive to support local families in need. That’s right, at every meeting we collect food and deliver it promptly to a convenient drop off location.
Our local Manna Food Center feeds over 2,3000 local families each month, including 500 hungry elementary school students.
Our next meeting is on Tuesday, September 2nd at 10am. Please come with at least one non-perishable item and give some thought to making it a healthy choice. Many families who receive assistance from Manna have health issues and would especially appreciate very healthy selections.
See you next week!!
